The Origin

Why this company exists.

My parents were small business owners. I grew up watching them compete — not just against other small businesses, but against industries increasingly shaped by enterprise-scale tools, budgets, and platforms they had no realistic path to accessing.

I spent the early part of my career in web development, fintech, and financial services. I built systems inside large institutions. I saw firsthand what those advantages looked like from the inside — and how wide the gap really was.

AI is the first technology I’ve seen that gives smaller businesses a genuine path to closing that gap without enterprise-scale resources. That’s what led me to build AI Freelancer — not any particular fondness for AI in itself, but a genuine belief that it’s the most powerful tool available right now for leveling the playing field for SMBs.

Taylor Oliphant

Taylor has spent 20+ years building things — web platforms, fintech systems, and now AI-powered business infrastructure. He’s worked inside large financial institutions and alongside lean founding teams, which gave him a precise understanding of where the gap between big and small really lives.

He earned his MBA from Purdue with a 4.0 GPA, holds professional certificates from Harvard, the University of Pennsylvania, and Lund University in AI, leadership, and law. He’s based in Cleveland, OH.

He started AI Freelancer because he was tired of watching powerful tools stay locked inside large institutions while the businesses that needed them most had no path in.
